A Palm Beach County jury on November 6 found a man guilty of stabbing his roommate to death less than five months ago, State Attorney Alexcia Cox announces.

After a four-day trial, James Griffin was convicted of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Following the verdict, the court imposed a sentence of life in prison.

The murder occurred on June 22, 2025, inside a Lake Worth Beach residence. That night, a friend of Griffin called 911 to report that Griffin had confessed to killing his 63-year-old roommate during an argument.

Assistant State Attorneys Marci Rex and Daniel Gross prosecuted the case and obtained justice for the victim.
