Palm Beach County State Attorney Alexcia Cox announced that two men convicted of trafficking in fentanyl were each sentenced this week.

Larry D. Chavers was found guilty on May 28, in a case prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Samuel Farot and Diva Casas. The court imposed the mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison, plus a $100,000 fine.

Robanson Nicolas was found guilty on July 14, in a case prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Jennifer Santos and Lauren Gutierrez. The court imposed the mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison, plus a $500,000 fine.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigated both cases. Nicolas was arrested on January 8, 2024, and Chavers was arrested on April 4, 2024. Both men were convicted as charged of trafficking in fentanyl, with the quantity involved determining the mandatory minimum sentence.
