Palm Beach County State Attorney Alexcia Cox announces that a grand jury has indicted Richard Seith on one count of First-Degree Murder with a firearm in connection with the fatal shooting of his ex-wife.

On July 15, 2025, at approximately 3:22 a.m., law enforcement officers responded to 4701 Lucerne Lakes Blvd and found a deceased woman lying on the sidewalk in front of her condo. She had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. Following a thorough investigation by detectives with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division, Richard Seith was identified as the suspect. Investigators determined that Seith and the victim had recently finalized their divorce, during which he was ordered to pay her a sum of over $200,000.

State Attorney Alexcia Cox stated, “This indictment reflects our commitment to seeking justice for victims of domestic violence and holding perpetrators accountable. No one should live in fear, and we will vigorously prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law.”
