The latest statistics from the Office of the State Courts Administrator show that the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office ranks 3rd out of the state’s 20 Judicial Circuits for felony and county court conviction rates.

The data for the 2020-21 fiscal year shows the office improved to the 3rd position, up from 4th, in county court. The office continues to rank 3rd in felony court, while the
conviction rate improved to 94.5%. This statistic includes guilty pleas and jury trial verdicts.

“These conviction rates are a credit to the professionalism and skill of our prosecutors,” said State Attorney Dave Aronberg. “It starts with careful scrutiny by experienced attorneys in our case intake division, which ensures that we only prosecute cases when there is a good-faith basis to obtain convictions. This keeps our focus on cases that serve the interests of justice and community safety.”

The result is the office’s highest felony conviction rate in more than 10 years. For the fiscal year before the State Attorney’s first term began in 2013, the conviction rate ranking was next to last in the state.
