Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg announced today that the Sober Homes Task Force, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, arrested fugitive Thomas Stanley on July 2, 2021. The arrest is the culmination of a month-long investigation after Stanley failed to appear for a required court appearance in Palm Beach County on June 7, 2021.

On April 3, 2019, Stanley was initially arrested for 53 counts of patient brokering and 7 counts of conspiracy. He was an executive of Coastal Laboratories, LLC located in Lake Park. Prior to Stanley’s failure to appear, he was granted a $270,000 bond.

On July 2, 2021, Stanley and an acquaintance were located anchored off of Pig Beach in the Exumas by Bahamian authorities on a 45’ Catamaran Vessel identified as “Chillin Like A Villain.” According to Bahamian authorities, a search of the vessel was conducted and five firearms and multiple rounds of ammunition were located.

Courtesy Royal Bahamas Police Force On July 4, 2021, the Bahamian government deported Stanley to Atlanta, Georgia, where he is currently awaiting extradition to Palm Beach County. He is expected to be at First Appearance on July 17.

“Mr. Stanley tried to flee the long arm of justice, but our partnership with local, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies prevented his escape,”
said State Attorney Dave Aronberg. “We will see him in a Palm Beach County
courtroom soon, like all the other defendants charged by our Sober Homes Task
Force.”
