Mustafa Gencoglanoglu, 52, was found guilty of kidnapping in possession of a firearm, grand theft over $100,000 with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, and threats or extortion with a firearm, after a trial in December. On Thursday, he was sentenced to 40 years in state prison for his crimes.

The victim bravely testified, telling jurors how she was threatened with a demand for $5 million. She was rescued at a bank by Palm Beach Police officers.

Assistant State Attorney Christy Rogers led the prosecution, and was assisted at the trial by Assistant State Attorney Daniella Margetic.
