The 41-year-old man was found guilty of the charge of felon in possession of a firearm. He now faces a minimum mandatory sentence of three years in state prison.

The defendant, who was a convicted felon for domestic battery by strangulation and other crimes, fired the gun during an altercation with his then-girlfriend. The incident happened early on Feb. 13, 2023, just hours after Super Bowl Sunday.
