A man who tried to kill two men riding in a lawn service truck was sentenced on November 21 to 55 years in prison, Palm Beach County State Attorney Alexcia Cox announces.

On October 20, Edward Shine pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

The crimes occurred on January 28, 2024, when Shine drove up to a lawn service truck in a Belle Glade neighborhood and fired at least four rounds at the victims, who ducked and avoided being hit.

The 55-year sentence includes a mandatory 43 years to be served day for day without any gain time.
