A jury has found a man guilty in a downtown West Palm Beach shooting from three years ago, State Attorney Alexcia Cox announces.

On November 7, Montrez Grinnon was convicted of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.

During a weeklong trial, the victim testified that he was shot 15 times in a Clematis Street parking lot at 1:30 a.m. on September 5, 2022. Less than an hour after the shooting, Grinnon was arrested in Deerfield Beach following a pursuit.

A sentencing hearing is pending. Grinnon faces life in prison because the jury determined he is a Prison Release Reoffender.
