Valentin, 33, was found guilty in a September 2022 crash in which he hit a 30-year-old motorcyclist in Wellington. An investigation determined Valentin was driving with a blood-alcohol level of .228, nearly three times the legal limit.

Senior Judge John Kastrenakes presided over the trial and set a sentencing hearing on Feb. 26. The charge is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Assistant State Attorneys Amy Berkman and Dan Gross prosecuted the case and obtained justice for the victim and his family.
