Lushun D. McCalla Ferryman, 36, was sentenced on Thursday to nearly 19 months he already served, followed by five years of probation, for robbing a bank three years ago, the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office announces.

Earlier this month, a jury found McCalla Ferryman guilty as charged of one count of robbery. On Aug. 23, 2022, he walked into Wells Fargo Bank in downtown West Palm Beach, and handed a teller a note with a demand: “Empty the register (paper money only) in envelope. This a robbery.”

The defendant – who wore a suit and tie but did not carry a weapon – left the branch with $2,473, then walked across the street to Chase Bank to open an account with the cash. West Palm Beach Police officers quickly located and arrested him.
